Councillor David Bawn has urged residents to be patient while works take place to upgrade the pipework under the road along the High Stanners.
The road could be closed for up to four weeks during the daytime from August 19th.. Work will take place in phases, with upgrades to High Stanners then Challoner’s Gardens.
As well as the upgrades, the road will benefit from a full resurface.
Commenting on the closure, Cllr Bawn said:
“Residents of the High Stanners have faced a lot of disruption recently, from flood alleviation works to the recent path upgrade and this will prolong that disruption but it will be worth it in the long run.
“I’ll be keeping an eye on the works as they take place and if parts of the closure can be ended earlier then I’ll try and make sure that happens.”
