The refurbishment of the Druridge Bay Visitor Centre has been completed including a new café.
Speaking about the project Councillor Glen Sanderson said, “I am very pleased that our new cafe at Druridge Bay Country Park will be open this weekend, Saturday 4th July, for the first time.
“Druridge Bay is one of our great council run Country Parks so please go along and enjoy everything that the Park has to offer. The café, which will serve take aways only in the current restrictions, has been part of a £1m+ programme of investment in our country parks by our Conservative County Council.
“As part of the same investment programme we have also upgraded Plessey Woods with a brand new play area, Bolam Lake, Gallagher Park, and soon we will begin looking at plans to improve Queen Elizabeth II County Park near Ashington. In addition Plessey Woods has become so popular that we will also create more parking space there to avoid people parking on the main road.
“Our Parks have proved their value in recent lockdown giving us nature to enjoy, wide open spaces and fresh air. We are committed to making our Parks the best they can be most already have Green Flag status. So enjoy!”
