Hexham MP Guy Opperman visited The Manors care home in West Wylam last week where he took part in a discussion with residents, staff and pupils from Adderlane First School about litter issues in the area. During the conversation, pupils put forward ideas of what can be done to ensure that local streets are kept as clean and tidy as possible.

Mr Opperman said: "It is always great to speak with young people about the issues they are passionate about. We all have a part to play in ensuring that our local communities are kept clean, and I am delighted to see young people getting involved and doing their bit."
