Guy Opperman MP’s campaign for a cycle superhighway connecting Carlisle and Newcastle has taken a step forward as £9 million is being invested into a cycle route between Hexham and Corbridge.
Guy regularly meets the Cycling Minister and Northumberland County Council to make the case for the project and secure funding. Last week, Guy met some residents of Haydon Bridge to discuss further plans.
The progress on the cycle superhighway is creating local jobs and making commutes easier and healthier.
Guy Opperman MP said:
"I am delighted that, following meetings with the Cycling Minister, we have secured funding for the Hexham to Corbridge route. This is a great step forward for our cycle superhighway campaign, which is making commuting quicker and easier as well as boosting tourism."
