Hexham MP Guy Opperman recently visited Hexham Police Station to meet with Northumbria Police officers and Inspector Bridges to get an update on police preventative measures, including how to prevent anti-social behaviour and drug use and combat speeding.

He also discussed Northumbria Police’s Farmwatch scheme, a network designed to alert farmers and members of the rural community to any criminal or suspicious activity, share crime prevention advice and make appeals for information.

Mr Opperman said: “I would encourage rural residents to sign up for the Farmwatch scheme- by doing so you will be kept informed of crime in your area and receive a monthly news bulletin. For more information about the scheme, contact your Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101”.
