Hexham MP Guy Opperman is encouraging constituents to visit the ‘Voice and Vote: Women’s Place in Parliament’ exhibition, open to the public free of charge in Westminster Hall.
The exhibition tells the story of women in Parliament over the last 200 years and the people who fought for democratic quality, as we mark 100 years since the Representation of the People Act 1918 extended the right to vote to the first women and 90 years since the Equal Franchise Act 1928 gave all women over 21 the right to vote.
Guy said: “In this very important year, I would encourage you to go and see this excellent exhibition. If you’re visiting London over the next few months, it is definitely worth a visit.”
